Amazon Prime is a great service – free shipping, access to their video and music services, and other perks. One that you might not be aware of can not only save you money, but can be used to help organizations in your area.
The Amazon Family discounts are available to Prime members, which gives you discounts on subscriptions to diapers. This means you can have diapers delivered to your door on a regular basis, for twenty percent less than the regular online price.
Now, you might be thinking, that’s great, but I don’t have kids that need diapers. But do you know who does? Your local shelters, and other family-assisting agencies. Many of these organizations need diapers for their clients and the families they assist, and if they aren’t donated, it’s a purchase that they can’t just go without.
As a Prime member, you can provide an essential item, at a much lower cost. Talk to the local shelter in your area, and ask if this is a donation item they need. You can set up a subscription to deliver right to their doors, recurring monthly, for as little as twenty dollars.
If you’re looking for a way to give back to your local community, this is one way to use your existing Prime membership to help others in need. If you have other ideas or suggestions, please leave a comment on social media, and share your thoughts with others using the hashtag #PrimeForGood. Please note, this is not an official Amazon program or anything – just an idea I wanted to share.
If you don’t yet have a Prime membership, you can sign up for a free trial below. The holidays are a great time to test out Prime – the free two-day shipping alone makes it worthwhile!

It only takes a few minutes to contact a local shelter, and just a few more to set up a subscription. What you and your Prime membership can provide for those in need is a gift that keeps on giving.
